Submit Your Work to Oakwood Daily

We welcome original articles, personal essays, photography, visual art, and other creative work for consideration. Explore our submission opportunities and find the right fit for your work.

Founded in 2026, Oakwood Daily is a lifestyle publication focused on home, food, family life, pets, and the everyday routines that make up life at home. We write about the things people actually deal with from one day to the next — deciding what to cook for dinner, keeping a household running, finding better ways to organize the home, caring for a pet, planning family routines, and making busy weeks a little easier.

Our readers are primarily in the United States and United Kingdom, along with readers in other communities around the world. We aim to publish practical, useful, and interesting lifestyle content that feels relevant to modern households, whether that means a good idea for the kitchen, a thoughtful approach to life with pets, a simpler way to handle something around the house, or a story that makes an ordinary part of life feel worth noticing.

We value the parts of life that are easy to overlook but mean a great deal to the people living them. A family meal can become a tradition, a pet can become part of the rhythm of a home, and familiar routines can carry memories that last for years. Oakwood Daily brings those practical and personal sides of everyday life together — with stories and ideas that are useful when you need them and enjoyable when you simply want something good to read.

Our readers are primarily in the United States and United Kingdom, and we welcome relevant ideas and submissions from writers and creators elsewhere too. What matters is that the work has something to offer people living modern everyday lives — particularly readers thinking about their homes, families, food, pets, and the routines that fill a week.

We’re interested in home and household life, cooking and recipes, family routines, life with pets, personal experiences, and the everyday decisions that make a difference at home. That can mean a practical story about making a household easier to manage, a recipe that solves a real dinner problem, an essay about a family tradition, a thoughtful piece about living with a pet, or a useful idea that changes the way someone approaches an ordinary part of their day. We also welcome photography and visual work that has a meaningful connection to people, homes, animals, food, places, or everyday life.

We particularly value work that has a clear idea behind it and something genuine to say. We aren’t looking for generic lists, recycled advice, or pieces written simply because a subject happens to be popular. A strong submission might teach someone something useful, offer a fresh perspective, tell a memorable personal story, or make a familiar part of life feel worth looking at again.

We value the connection between everyday life and the people living it. Home isn’t just a collection of rooms, food isn’t simply something on a plate, and pets aren’t just another responsibility in a busy household. They’re part of family traditions, memories, relationships, comfort, and the routines people build their lives around. Those connections matter to us, and they’re often where the most interesting stories begin.

We accept work across lifestyle articles, features, personal essays, recipes and food stories, home and household stories, pet and animal stories, photography, and visual art. We also occasionally host reader photo challenges and competitions, with details announced when they open.

Do you have a moment from your life that has stayed with you? We’re looking for personal stories about experiences that changed something in you — a childhood memory you still carry, a family moment, an unexpected event, or an experience with a pet that changed the way you see things.

We’re especially interested in stories where an ordinary experience reveals something deeper about home, family, relationships, pets, memory, or everyday life. It might be a moment that changed your perspective, stayed with you long after it happened, or made you see someone or something differently.

We’re currently accepting pitches for personal stories of up to 1,500 words. Please send a pitch, not a completed manuscript. Tell us what happened, why the story still matters to you, and what you think readers might take away from it. A short paragraph about yourself and links to previous work are welcome, but you don’t need professional publishing credits to pitch us.

Email your pitch to:

contact@oakwooddaily.com

Please use “Reader Story Pitch” as the subject line and include:

  • Your proposed story idea
  • Approximate finished word count (up to 1,500 words)
  • A short paragraph about yourself
  • Links to relevant previous work, if available

Oakwood Daily launched in 2026 and is currently a new, independently run publication without the revenue to offer contributor payment. We want to be transparent about that before you spend time preparing a pitch. As Oakwood Daily grows and begins generating sustainable revenue, our goal is to introduce payment for contributors.

For now, we’re looking for writers who want to be part of building a new publication and have a story that genuinely fits what we’re trying to create.

If we publish your story, we’ll include an author bio with the article and can include a link to your website, or social media profile if you provide one. We’ll also promote published stories through Oakwood Daily’s website and official social media channels, helping introduce your work to our readers.

We’d love to see what you’re sharing, but please make sure you have the right to send it to us.

  • Only submit photos you took yourself or have permission to submit. You must own the copyright in the image or have permission from the copyright owner to give Oakwood Daily the rights described below.
  • Please don’t submit photographs taken by someone else without their permission, even if the photo is of you, your pet, your home, or your family. The photographer may own the copyright.
  • If other identifiable people appear in your photo, make sure you have their permission to submit the image and for Oakwood Daily to use it. For children or minors, please have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
  • Don’t include private, confidential, or sensitive information in the image or caption that you don’t want shared publicly.
  • By submitting, you give Oakwood Daily permission to publish, reproduce, display, crop, resize, format, and share your submitted photo and accompanying caption/story on Oakwood Daily’s website and official social media channels.
  • This permission is non-exclusive, meaning you keep ownership of your photograph and can continue to use it yourself or give permission to others.
  • Oakwood Daily may choose whether or not to publish a submission. Submission does not guarantee publication.
  • We may make reasonable edits such as cropping, resizing, formatting, or adding editorial presentation. We won’t intentionally alter a submission in a way that misrepresents the contributor or their story.
  • We’ll credit the contributor where practical when a submission is published, using the name or credit information provided with the submission.
  • If a submission is selected for a competition, any additional prize, eligibility, judging, or usage terms will be provided with that specific competition.
  • You retain all copyright ownership of your image. Submitting an image does not transfer copyright to Oakwood Daily.

We’re looking for real, everyday moments rather than polished professional photography. Send us your reader photos featuring pets, cozy spaces, gardens, favorite things, seasonal moments, everyday life, or entries for our occasional photo challenges and competitions.
